Who's afraid of the Bat? 2

Saw Batman Begins on opening day, 11pm (the 10:20 sold out). Easily the best action movie I’ve seen since Spiderman 2. Great pacing, good story, well-selected cast. Cillian Murphy was incredible as the Scarecrow. You could also see hints of Momento from Chris Nolan’s directing. Very well put together, and if you like action, you need to see this movie.

My gripes:

  • Script could have been better, a little cheese, a little too much repetition for emphasis
  • It was an automatic!!!

What’s unbelievable is Revenge of the Sith got a 68 on Metacritic, and an 82% on Rotten Tomatoes, while Batman Begins got a 70 on MC and an 82% on Rotten Tomatoes. Absolute bullsh**. The only possible explanation for the Sith ratings are craptacular expectations that Lucas set from Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones.

Sh*** and giggles. 1

This is Fatty. Fatty’s at Poplar Beach, soaking in the sun. Judy named him so, because of his girth. Fatty likes tap water.

This is one of the first pictures from my new Digital Rebel XT worth posting. Took it in the backyard of my parent’s house, set aperture to 1.8. Using flickr as well, so I’ll have to write some comments about that later, as well.

My mother just bought a $100 Jack Lalanne Power Juicer a few weeks ago, and I assembled it last night. She couldn’t make this easy on me, though, by concocting like, oh, say, a carrot juice, could she? Nooo, mom decides that a mix of Chinese bitter melon, green pepper, apples, and celery would extend my life, raise my IQ, lower my blood pressure, and invigorate me with the urge to return to school to get my jd/phd/md. Foul. Absolutely foul. What’s worse is the aftertaste sticks with you as you’re trying to fall asleep.

Going to hell in a handbasket. Don't forget the mittens. 1

His Steveness finally did it. Apple on Intel, cats and dogs living together, and hopefully, a painless transition for users. Good for Apple – IBM wasn’t giving them love.

OS X will be locked to hardware, so no running OS X on Dell, unless some clever hackers find a way to emulate ROMs.

X-serve may end up going away, unless they slash prices, as they can only differentiate through a remote GUI. I don’t know how much of a premium enterprise customers will pay for that.

I’m a little disappointed that I’m not getting a Powerbook G5. On the other hand, my apps are largely unaffected, and I’m excited about running Lognhorn on VMWare, and opening up a huge library of games.
