I've successfully converted my blog from Typo to Mephisto! It's surprisingly easy. The only note I'd make about conversion is that you actually don't have to create a new entry in the database.yml file. It's now included so you have to edit the existing file. That took all of 15 minutes for me to figure out (duh).
That also means this machine's migrated to Rails 1.2. W00t! DHH thinks I'm a wuss for not living on edge rails, but I'll live.
I need a little bit to settle into my new surroundings, but this really is quite nice. Looking forward to posting actively again!

Why mephisto? You like liquid templates? Or is Typo too bloated? Or is Typo locked to too old of a rails version that hampers your style? I've also been worried that the Mephisto comment spam protection was a tad bit weak, and not as well done as Wordpress. I hope to see another post on why. I've always been thinking about switching to a Rails blog, but haven't found a compelling reason. I like Rick Olson's work, but features not there yet...

I switched off Typo because I felt it was unmaintained, and spam of all sorts was killing me. Mephisto uses Akismet, which is what Wordpress uses, and it seems to be working well (no spam in 3 days). For me, personally, it's on Rails, which is the primary development language for my company.
