Who's afraid of the Bat? 2

Posted by jason

Saw Batman Begins on opening day, 11pm (the 10:20 sold out). Easily the best action movie I’ve seen since Spiderman 2. Great pacing, good story, well-selected cast. Cillian Murphy was incredible as the Scarecrow. You could also see hints of Momento from Chris Nolan’s directing. Very well put together, and if you like action, you need to see this movie.

My gripes:

  • Script could have been better, a little cheese, a little too much repetition for emphasis
  • It was an automatic!!!

What’s unbelievable is Revenge of the Sith got a 68 on Metacritic, and an 82% on Rotten Tomatoes, while Batman Begins got a 70 on MC and an 82% on Rotten Tomatoes. Absolute bullsh**. The only possible explanation for the Sith ratings are craptacular expectations that Lucas set from Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones.

Batman Begins has been a bonanza hit! Psst! Did you hear the latest news that Christian Bale, Michael Caine, and Morgan Freeman all signed on to star in the sequel? Of all the main stars, only Katie Holmes--the weakest link--was left out. Apparently studio execs wanted a "more serious actress" the second time around. Or perhaps they tired of the ostentatious displays of phoniness with her new romance. Seeing her & TC prance around Paris is enough to raise eyebrows of any rational, thinking person. I LOVE YOU WITH ALL MY HYPE.

Thanks for the review. It's always better to know before hand if the movie is worth spending my hard earned money ;-) I am putting the movie on my ToDo list for this weekend.
